As we come to the end of our AS Media Studies Coursework, we are to evaluate our production of our Title Sequence Captive. These are our evaluation questions that we are to answer.

Final Title Sequence
After several weeks, this is our final title sequence that we successfully made:
We have completed it after several weeks of planning and producing. It took a lot of work but i believe that we couldn't do a better job as we all tried to make it better by suggestions. We took on the teacher/peer feedback and produced this title sequence. This is the final title sequence for Captive:
This title sequence reminds me of the title sequence of Sin City as they are both black and white. We changed the transition on the actual title as we asked our teacher if it looked right and she said no.
Overall i think my group worked well as a team and we all co-operated well with each other with no arguments.

Last Changes
After watching our title sequence a couple of times, we decided that we need to play around with our editing a bit more.
We added a few more shots to our title sequence to show more hints of Christian playing a Doctor
We used Bad Film which is a type of filter that we liked. The hints were the Doctor doing an experiment which they do naturally. This filter works well because it gives an old vibe to the title sequence.
The other thing that we did was edit the bit where Christian is walking along the road after Maria. Lucy used a dissolve transition which repeated his walk slightly. Some of us in the group didn't really understand why we put it in there because it make his character look ghostly which is not what we want the character to come across as. As we couldn't change the transition we just decided to make the pace a bit faster to give that bit of the title sequence a fast paced feel.
We were able as a group to say that we didn't necessarily like a bit in the title sequence and we changed it so that everyone in the group felt comfortable moving on with the title sequence.

Voiceover
This is our final voice over that we made for our title sequence. This voice over had the girls voice (Maria)
and the mans voice (Dr. Thompson). Merging both of our voices one after the other on its own sounded amazing. However after our teacher feedback had our group thinking if we should keep the voice over or not as the feedback says that the voice over doesn't fit in with the title sequence. It is not that the quality is bad because we did with a Mac computer with all the necessary equipment needed so that the quality is good.
For our title sequence, it wasn't giving the whole the creepy confusing vibe we wanted to give an audience, so we decided to not include it in our final title sequence.

Thriller title sequence: Outbreak
Sound
On of the first things you hear in this title sequence is an explosion noise. This gives off that this is a war film and people are getting hurt. As the explosion sound goes on we hear the background track of fast drums, drumming at a beat starting. We are starting to become intrigued with what the title sequence is about. As the title sequence goes into present day, the sound is of little shakers shaking fast. This sound creates suspense as we want to know what is happening. We start to hear people talking and beeping like when a door is locked and you need a special code to unlock the door. Level 2 in the title sequence, the music changes to a low drumming sound. At level 3 the music drops to a light flowy sound. As soon as someone in the title sequence goes into a place that is important the music changes. We hear a lot of diegetic sound e.g. the beepers and the doors opening. We only hear one piece of dialogue 3/4 of the title sequence which suggests that the title sequence is not about people talking a lot. NEar the end of the title sequence when the camera is in the house, there is no music but dialogue from a mans voice. Lastly non-diagetic sound as the man is washing the dog.
Editing
One of the first edit i see in this title sequence is cuts between the explosion scene.
Cinematography
We see wide shots and an areal shot at the start of the title sequence so that we can see that we are in a jungle away from civilization. The camera fast tracks forward outside of the building creating long shots. In this title sequence the camera movements through out are stand stills, tracking forward or backward to give a continuous feel to the title sequence. As the tracking goes on, we see some mid shots but they are quick as the camera movement is moving. We get a semi close op of the authorization gadget the man has to put his finger prints on to enter past a door. Over the shoulder shot is done as we follow closely behind the man that went through the authorized door. A two shot is shown when the man and woman are about to go and see what the unknown diseases are. Lastly a mid shot to show the man bonding and washing his dog.
Mise-en-scene
At the beginning of the title sequence we see a man in a soilders attire on so we assume that this title sequence is about war. Then we see a plan fly past to let us know what maybe someone is on the way to helping all of the people that were in the explosion. We think danger as we see fire and monkeys running away. Guards are shown to tell us that we may be going into a secure building with something valuable kept inside it. everyone in the building is wearing some sort of uniform (like navy wear). People in lab coats are shown to tell us that this title sequence may be set in this lab. The text on the screen tells us where they are and what each room is about. We briefly see some of the equipment that they are using to maybe try and fins a cure for all these diseases. All of the equipment looks advanced and expensive so we get the feel that everything is legit and serious. People in the space suits like, are perhaps in contact with an unknown disease. Lastly at the end of the title sequence we see we are in a house which looks like the person has just moved in due tot he boxes around the place. Two dogs and a man are in his bathroom.

Title Sequence Update
This is the title sequence after our feedback. There was some problems to this title sequence as we realised that some of the names have too many people featuring in it. I redid the text so that it is only one person so that the shots can be seen clearly without writing on top of it. Also i realised that when i was doing the text for 'Photography By' i forgot to put the 'h' in, so i went to remake that as well.
It was suggested that we make some additions to the start of the title sequence, so we added some more doctor suggestions in the begining of the title sequence.

Teacher/Peer Feedback
In this lesson, we had teacher/peer feedback. Everyone had one of these pieces of papers to give some feedback to the other two groups like what we liked and what they could have done better. In order to do this feedback sheet we had to show the whole class and our teacher our different title sequences. These are our feedback sheets:
I think this feedback was very helpful to our group regarding out title sequence as we got the opinion of how a small fraction of our audience would react to this title sequence. We read off the feedback sheet that the person was confused with what our voice over was trying to reveal/say. Also that they didn't like the effects we put in our title. We were told to add more suggestions that the man is a Doctor to create a more psychological feel to the title sequence. I felt that the feedback was very useful as we as a group made some changes to our title sequence. We took out our voice over as after the feedback none of us felt comfortable to keep it in the title sequence, we shot more footage of the man being a Doctor (him doing some experiments in a lab) My group felt like the feedback that other group said was valid and made sence. In all our feedback was positive with a few things we improved or changed completely.
